I have been to Singapore many times, sometimes for work, and others because it is en-route to many other destinations. I have blogged about Singapore before and if you are a Vegetarian you could click this
one, or if you like just to look at a few quick and colourful pics, click
here.
I really like this city, it changes all the time with new buildings and gardens popping up, and changing the skyline! I have uploaded the first photos, just a few, it is raining cats and dogs here too!
Food: mostly eating at home with our friends, and in food courts (Vegetarian Indian being a favourite). We tried a new fruit:
Salak (snake skin fruit) from Indonesia, but nothing special. Maybe I will have time to post more tomorrow :-).

Thanks for the memories. I have had 2 short visits to Singapore. Lovely photos. Diane
ReplyDeleteOh you lucky thing, I've traveled everywhere else in South East Asia, but never to Singapore! Those salak sounds and looks interesting! Safe travels and Merry Christmas to you and your family xx
ReplyDeleteAh, your photos are bringing back memories already. I've never tried salak, though I love all the tropical fruit in Singapore and Southeast Asia in general :) Have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteI like Singapore too, my brother lives there so we try to make it our stopover destination when flying to Europe. The foods great and we always go to the Hawker food markets
Thank you all for your comments, I am always curious to try new fruit, but that Salak didn't impress me so much, maybe it is an acquired taste.
ReplyDeleteAlli, I think that the food markets are better than the food court, and cheaper too. But it is raining so much, and most of the time, so we are not spending so much time outdoors or in badly sheltered places. Pity. On the other hand, we had a lot of Xmas shopping to do, so at least malls have been very convenient.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures,dear!Thanks for sharing!Un bacione,carina!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures Alessandra! Enjoy your holidays! And keep sharing new food experiences! Love hearing reading about them!
ReplyDeleteI really want to go to Singapore to eat delicious things. I should have gone when an uncle and aunt lived there but they've moved back to Hong Kong now. I imagine this is one of those cities where having a local show you were to eat will be completely different to winging it yourself. Still fun of course :)
ReplyDelete@ Bunny, definitely a great place for eating! I ate in big hotels, and in food courts, and in markets or local restaurants with local friends, and many types of cuisines too, and I have to say that all the experiences are great! Also, this is a fantastic place to eat fresh tropical fruit, and food from stall, without getting sick!
ReplyDeleteWonderful Singapore! I'm really looking forward to visiting it, also because it's one of the vegan-friendliest places in the world. I'm keeping your guide for future reference.
