I love Piha Beach, though I haven't been there for years. Shame I didn't take the opportunity to get there when I was staying up in Auckland last year - kept meaning to but somehow never got around to it.
Compared to Europe yes, this is a quite beach, but for NZ standards... well, lots of people come here (lots for NZ, that is), it is one of the most famous surf beaches of the country. I like it best off season, like now.
